Makeup wasn't always my dream. I was just good at it. My passion grew from there. I worked in cosmetics when the industry was thriving. It was busy, lucrative, and a lot of fun. Then it became more about profit and less about making people feel good. Artistry wasn't the focus anymore. I began to resent every part of the job. One day a client asked if I’d want to be a store manager for a clothing boutique. It sounded like a great change. I decided to put makeup to rest and try something new.

It turned out to be the demise before I found my passion. Working in retail cosmetics made me dislike what I was doing, but when I left, I felt so far away from myself. I remember constantly crying. After a year at the boutique, I had a total meltdown. I came home and decided I was going back to makeup.

I had a book of freelance clients and decided to go out on my own. I went back to a job I worked in high school at a bakery. The hours were conducive to a makeup artist's schedule, and it gave me enough money to get by. But it was a hard pill to swallow. I worked there when I was 18, I felt like I was going backward.

When covid hit, the bakery closed, but there was an influx of makeup bookings. I connected with people on social media. I built relationships. I worked out of my house for a while. I had to make it happen. I knew what I was good at, and I knew what clients wanted. I offer a specific style of "full glam or fuck off." I could do the whole spectrum, but what I love and what I’ll make you feel most beautiful in is full glam.

Now, I have my own makeup studio that I love. My biggest goal is to gain celebrity clientele. I’ve dabbled with celebrities; I've done NY Fashion Week. It’s been fun. I want to do more events, concerts, and red carpets. I know it’s doable; I'm on my way. If you're confident in your work, your craft, and yourself, the sky’s the limit.

Life’s too short to be unhappy. It’s all about taking chances & putting in the work. Once you find something you love and experience the luxury of doing it, it's unmatched. It's not always a straight line, but when you get there, it's so good. It's so, so good.
